InStep Project^© is a Visegrad Fund supported project coordinated by KKPS SvF STU in Bratislava. The project is aimed at the education of future planners in the field of nearly zero energy buildings and use of renewable energy sources at the district level.

EHB is an interesting private project (in Slovak only) focused on assessment of building envelope quality using online accessible server based computation solutions.

Anotation

The aim of the project is to support international mobility of students, PhD students, and staff members of four participating faculties of STU in Bratislava with partners from NTNU Trondheim and Universität Liechtenstein. It will initiate academic cooperation between the University of Liechtenstein and STU Bratislava in construction, architecture, and space planning, focusing on the use of alternative energy sources in operation of buildings, including computer-aided simulations of energy needs and internal environment, and spatial planning of rural settlements as well. The project also contributes to further strengthening of already existing cooperation between NTNU Trondheim and faculties of STU in Bratislava in the field of advanced methods of automatic control and to progress of inter-faculty cooperation at STU in Bratislava.

Project objectives for KKPS SvF STU (Faculty of Civil Engineering at STU in Bratislava)

In addition to the initiation of cooperation, the project mainly aims at mutual transfer of information and knowledge in the area of sustainable architecture, the use of alternative energy sources in operation of buildings, computer simulations of energy needs and internal environment, and also in the field of spatial planning of rural settlements. The transfer of knowledge and information should not be reflected only in direct activities in the form of two teachers and two doctoral mobility actions, but also get a multiplier effect through joint scientific articles and preparation of joint research projects.

Planned mobility:

On the basis of mutual acceptance, the University staff mobility will be conducted as:

• Short lecture stay of Prof. Peter Droege of the Liechtenstein University at STU in Bratislava,
• Short lecture stay of Assoc. Prof. Roman Rabenseifer of STU in Bratislava at Liechtenstein University

The anticipated doctoral mobility includes:

• Study stay of doctoral student from SvF STU at the Liechtenstein University,
• Study stay of doctoral student from the Liechtenstein University at SvF STU.
